The Pope And The Papacy

Today as many watched across the world. The departure of  Pope Benedict from the Vatican.  There are many emotions that run the gamete the emotions that we as Roman Catholics and people of other faiths are experiencing. Those emotions are in the realm of sadness or gladness. Both felt for many reasons. Some because of antipathy for the Church. Many more for reasons of better, more loving and  noble reasons.  Those of  the latter because of admiration for the Pontiff. Who stated that he never really wanted to be Pope. Who when elected beseeches God to aid him in his responsibilities that he considered insurmountable for himself to achieve. Noting that he had been an academic for his entire career in the church. Writing and teaching.

This is the first Pope in 600 years to resign voluntarily,  the office of the Pope and leave the Papacy.  Still appearing to be well in mind and spirit.. Most of all exhibiting a level of humility that I can ever remember taking place at any political or private level.  History as far as I am concerned has shown me only one other case that has reached this exhibited stature. That of George Washington after the Revolution.  Refusing to accept the accolades of the people in the form of ultimate power and authority over a new nation.  Instead wanting to go home to his plantation and lead a private life. Which he was not allowed to do when his country called him again into their service.  After the ratification of the Constitution, thus replacing The Articles of Confederation.  Being elected President he refused to be addressed as King or Your Highness.  Out of the norm for the times. Then limiting his Presidency to two terms although he was not required to do so.

The  factor that makes the resignation of the Pope different and more notable is. That no matter what the Pope had done or would have done. No decision he could have considered or contemplated or put into motion.  The conspiracy theorists be damned.  Would ever have put into question his ultimate authority or endangered his position as Pope. The spiritual leader of at least 1.5 billion Roman Catholics. As well as others who do not belong to the Church but realize the power of the papacy and it's influence around the world in every way.  It's charities and ministries helping  the poor and isolated all over the world.  More than any nation or group of nations. They have been doing that for 2000 years. Supplying the world with hope and preaching love and humility. The very goals and preachings, Pope Benedict XVI ,  has shown by his resignation, he truly lived by. 

As I watched the doors of the Castille Gondolfo close after the Swiss Guard relinquished it's duties and responsibilities to the Vatican Police.  I thought of the how reverent it was in it's simplicity.  It took place at 8:01 PM Italian time. The pomp and ceremony that we know the Roman Catholic Church to be associated with, not apparent.  Yet it existed even in it's obvious absence. Codifying the true nature and character of the man who is now Pope Emeritus of the Roman Catholic Church.

No matter what the administration and the main stream media says....

These are the facts folks  Sequestration means that: there will be a cut in the increase of money already scheduled to be provided to various agencies. These cuts in the increase of spending amount to 1.5 to 3.%. of the federal budget. 1.5% this year and 3% long term for as long as 10 years down the road.  In other words. The federal agencies sited to be cut will only lose 1.5 percent of the increase.  If a federal agency is scheduled to get an increase of 1 billion dollars. Only 1.5 % of 1 billion is going to be cut of the increase they are getting. It does not mean that the present monies they already get will be cut. Just a minuscule percentage of the increase. 

To put it in a way that will relate to a private citizen who is employed or self employed. If you were expecting a $100.00 raise. You would get  the raise.  You would now get the raise minus a $1.50. So you would receive your regular yearly salary plus a $98.50 raise.  Is that so hard to live with.  What would you do.  Would you demand the boss give you the $1.50 when you understand business has been dropping off.  Taking a chance that the company close and you won't have any salary at all. 

The cuts are all for discretionary spending. There are no cuts that will effect entitlements. Like Social Security or Medicare.  The show bis props used by the President in the form of Firemen and First Responders and the like, are not employed by the federal government.  They are hired by states and municipalities.  The scare tactics that this administration employs are immoral.  In any case we all are aware of the large amount of waste the government is prone to.  When they have an endless supply of money.  It is a simple fact of life that if you are limited to what you can use. You are forced to use those assets more judiciously and get more mileage from what you are allotted.

After the refusal to take up the offer by congressional leaders in the House of Rep.  That gave him more flexibility as to who was cut, what and how much  In so doing being  forced to engage in arranging the cuts by priority.  The President has shown that he is not interested in making the it easier on the American people when these cuts of increase occur. Rather he wants to make it as painful as possible. Obviously for political reasons. This President has shown that he is not interested in performing his fiduciary responsibility.  The debt as we speak is climbing and has been increased by over 5 trillion dollars in the past 4 years. With no end in sight. Money is fungible and can be moved and from one column to another.  You just have to have the will do so and the ok from Congress.  It does not have to be made with a meat cleaver. The House of Represented has already put forth the two bills on the matter. The Senate has done nothing. No budget and no bills that effect this so called crises. Congressional leaders have given him that option which he refuses to take. No instead he wants more revenue.  Hey, wake up and fly right. The sequestration is a bone the President came up with. A bone to temper the raise in revenue he got last time we had to go through this Kabuki dance.  He wanted it and said he would veto any move to change it. It is on tape and we all saw and heard him say it.  Now he wants it to disappear.  If the government can't do without $ 84 billion? Then there is no hope we can ever cut the debt.

What We Have Here is a Failure to "Transparatize"

Did I hear at one time from an up and coming politician that happened to get the opportunity to run for the Presidency of the United States of America.  That if elected he would make it the most transparent administration in history.  I believe, correct me if I am wrong. ( there is a box for comments at the end of this column ) That he is convinced he has succeeded in delivering what he has promised.  Waving it around like a flag at the Indianapolis 500.  It appears the president keeps stating that, as if it is a fact.  We know that is not the fact, Now I am starting to believe that he either knows he has not. Which would result in my declaring him a liar. Or, he simply does not know the definition of the word. and  is getting it mixed up with the word. opaque.  Now I could post the definition of both words. I just don't think it would do any good. I mean who am I to educate a constitutional lawyer. If or if not it was earned in the traditional way or not.  So I will just supply the link.

To spite the claim that he and  his administration have been making with such regularity.  There seems to be a problem. The declaration of being transparent does not jive with reality.  Now the White House press corp, who have been so lax in asking follow up questions at press briefings As well as at the rarely given  press conferences by the President. So few in fact that you can count them on a sloths toes. Of which sloths have only three.  Have finally raised the issue. Prompted by the recent golf outing with Tiger Woods in which they were shut out by the President.  Further saying that it is one of a long line of snubs. Not only on matters of golf get a ways and numerous vacations. Seen fit to be taken in by the President every time a crises is in the works. So often created by his unwillingness to be seen as governing.  Almost reminds me of my dog.  You know like when they relive themselves and run from the deed leaving the stink and mess behind.  For all to smell, view and pick up. That is not what I would call leadership. Now I am sure that there is a definition of leadership.  Of course his supporters and the president himself would define the word and actions to achieve it as abstract.  I would think that we all have a pretty good idea what leadership entails. Just like Justice Potter Stewart who said, when making a Supreme Court Decision.  I can't define pornography, but I know it when I see it. remark.

It looks as if the press has a legitimate gripe and beef with the president.  Just last Thursday in response to the complaints of the press corp.  Obama declared again that his was a transparent administration. 
Today once again that seems to be a pipe dream he may be having or he is truly delusional.  The Governors conference was held in D.C. at which the president politely ordered the press to leave the room.  So that  he could take questions from the Governors assembled.  That is his definition of transparency.  What do you think ?  When your parents did that to you as a child it meant only one thing.  That they did not want you to hear what was being discussed.  That is not transparent, that is opaque.  So the very watchdogs of government are being shut out.  So now we have the first amendment that is being attacked.  Special privileges have been always afforded  to qualified journalists to gather and disseminate information of the policies and goings on of government.  So that we the people can know what  is going on and intelligently vote or put in check any corruption or miss deeds of those who hold out future in their hands. It is called accountability, to which we have a right to know about. This is not something the Obama administration takes seriously. His arrogance prevents that.  I find it impossible that major news stories are either not reported or passed over. Bengazi was one of  them. It is very plain to see that the way he is going to by pass the congress is by going directly to the people. Using his campaign style and well scripted oratory to lure the people to his side. "With their willing accomplices in the main stream media". to quote Rush Limbaugh.  The result of his campaign slick style. His insistence that it is getting better. No matter what anyone says.
There are some like Chris Rock who declare that the president is our boss. That he and his wife are our parents. This the level of ignorance of the left has now been infected  into the system of redundant news reports.  Day after day propels the idea into the public head.  Until they believe it. He is counting on that.    He is not our boss Chris, we are his boss. As far as Obama and Michelle being our dad and mom.  Well then I want to be adopted.  No matter what happens he wins. Because he already has them convinced that it's every one's fault but the Beneficent  Leader, Who always seems to be everywhere and no where. Getting out of the kitchen as fast as his legs could carry him.  When it got to hot for him.  Why because it is not his job to lead. His job is to sell. To look pretty and have a glamorous and demonstrative wife and two lovey  and vibrant girls. Pretty good for a young man belonging to a race of folks that is still suffering object racism. Can't make that argument, after all how much more powerful  can you get.  Armies and Navies, planes and all sorts of destructive forces are at his finger tips. No one more ill- prepared for the job than our present guest in the White House. Yet he has the world in his hands and can cause it to have a long suffering degradation of death or a quick one. This is the power of the Presidency. So progress towards a more homogeneous American takes root again and is exploited.  It was well on it's way to being accomplished .  It was interrupted and stalled by this President and the ideology that his party embraces.  As important news stories tell their tail.  They are judged not reportable or something to that degree, to let's say would undermine their journalistic credibility after being wrong on several  issues. As well as changing the perspective of the issues at hand.  The so called journalist of today violate journalistic principals. It means nothing to them to do so.  The ends justify the means is now the adopted credo.

That I believe, is the most sinister statement I have ever heard.  It has the most punch and poignancy. The media has too much at stake and will always find something that will not embarrass, question a decision or accuse him of making a mistake. Show business and politics run parallel to each other. They are  cousins in the great scheme of life. They both have the same goal.  Power and money, that is what it all boils down to. If you have money you are assured to have some degree of power  If you have power you  have a good chance financial rewards will be forth coming.

I have no sympathy for the whining of the press corp or the media. Both depend on the W.H. coverage. To make a good living.  They are suffering from a self inflicted wound.  They have been AWOL when it comes to serious questions being asked and followed ups. Just accepting everything that has been put out by that dweeb, J. Carney, in the press room of the W.H. Their myopia from the view of the left eye allowing miss information and spin to be spread among the masses. Well now it is your turn to be turned around and bent over as you are raped by an administration that only wants you around to do their bidding. What goes around comes around. Too bad the American public is always the collateral damage.  The media got this guy in the W.H. elected. So now let them eat the gruel  Mr. Obama is dishing out.

I Repeat, WHERE ARE THE JOBS ? Only 88,000 new jobs in March. 

Have we attained full employment ?  Maybe I missed something while I was sleeping. I know I was not on vacation where there were no news outlets available.  What happened to an issue that has been reported as the greatest concern of people polled ?  Jobs ! Could it be that 7.8 unemployment is now ok. Prior to the election it was one of the only things reported. Except if it was a liberal media outlet.  Everyone wondered if Mr. Obama would be the first President  re-elected with an unemployment rate of 8 plus percent.  Well we will never know.  By hook or by crook Obama and company made sure the national un employment figures were reduced by two tenths of a point.  Helped by the states that had Republican Governors whose economic policies were directly opposite of the Obama administration's idea of fiscal growth. Thus helping those states in efforts towards creating jobs. The only jobs produced by ideas put forth by Obama, were the increase of federal jobs. Either temporary jobs with no future or government jobs.  Not the private sector.  Those states attracted more companies by being friendly to business. One of the factors were " right to work " laws. Of course that would  be in direct opposition to the Obama base and union support that he depends on.

Soon after the election the number went up by 1 tenth of a point and the the economy contracted.  Not very promising for creating jobs. The Obama sycophants will try to spin the facts. Always comparing to little snippets of facts to Bush. However the numbers do not lie. "At the end of the day". A term so often used by the left to underscore their bogus points or fill the space that truth should occupy. The Obama administration has more federal workers than when he took office. With Obama Care that figure is sure to rise with the addition of Gestapo like IRS agents. An additional 14000 projected by last count.

So what does the Obama administration do.  He creates "straw men ".  He gets everyone focused on other things like crises over taxes and debt. Anti-gun legislation He blames sequester. An idea that he himself pushed and signed.  Golf getaways and lessons from Tiger Woods.  Lavish separate vacations for his wife and kids. Anything and anyone that will deviate from the most important matter he said he would fix with the infusion of ONE TRILLION DOLLARS in stimulus spending. That were supposed to provide shovel ready jobs. That he laughingly said were not so shovel ready. As a matter of fact only 6 % of that money was spent on infrastructure.  If that is not an indication of the failing of his administration to efficiently manage the money than what is. They say they need more money and more time. How much money and how much time is the question he will not answer.  It looks like he never intends to answer that question as long as the treasury keeps printing money that is more and more worthless day by day. Been to the gas pumps lately or the super market.

Of course if you used the money as a slush fund to bail out G.M.  In doing so create a situation that causes unions and the federal govt. to own it. Or, to bail out Chrysler so that the Canadians and Italian auto maker Fiat to own it.  Then to send the work outside the U.S. to China.  They also did a great job to bail out blue    states.  So that they could give those states money to satisfy outrages extortion demands by civil service employee unions.  Forced upon the tax payer through collective bargaining negotiations that in turn benefit the Democratic politicians. That then negotiate with the unions. Giving them what they want for campaign money generated by union dues.

That leaves us with the same question.  WHERE ARE THE JOBS ?  Not the part time jobs. Not the jobs you have today and lose tomorrow.  Not temporary jobs, or low wage jobs. Real jobs that can secure the future security of people that are still willing to work for their daily bread. With a GDP around 1 percent there are no jobs and the job market will never recover at that pace. It is just factually impossible.

The FAA has announce that 397 licenses have been given to operate drones above our fruited plain. From sea to shinning sea. Yes that's right folks, you are in the "eye of the beholder". The beholder being the government. Many of you out there had no problem with traffic stop light cameras.  There were others that knew it would lead to what we now have.  Ah, non sense was the response.  The reason given for allowing this was that the "safety of the public" would be enhanced. So too, is the rational  for the latest invasion of privacy of the American citizen. I hope you, who dismissed the warnings of those who knew this would be next in a cascading effort to giving up your 4th amendment rights, are happy. Hey, it didn't take long for it to happen.  Getting to this point was so easy once the ground work was done.  Let's see,  the 2cd amendment is under attack. You may lose that, or at least a good part of it. The 4th is in practicality is pretty much gone.  The reason is always the same. " It is for your benefit ". How come everything instituted for our benefit only makes things worse for us and better for the powers that be.  Many out there don't know the capabilities of these air borne spy machines. The can see you in super detail and what ever move you make. Including picking your nose.  True they are not armed.  Hey they don't need to be.  Knowledge is power.  Although I would say,  give them a few years and they will be armed.  Again, using the rational that is always used. " It is for your benefit". Perhaps the out cry of Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky should be heeded more.

It becomes curious to me that the time when they should have been used in defense of our  Ambassador and others in Bengazi.  If only to monitor the situation as it unfolded.  The information was not used or was ignored leading to the "blame it on the video", game. Or worst of all,  the eye of the beholder was blind. 
There in lies the problem.  It is sometimes not what is reported, but what is not.  The administration went after the CIA interrogators that  water boarded  prisoners to gain information from them. This the administration and others called torture. However they sanction the killing of prospective evil doers that they follow with un maned aircraft.  Indiscriminately,  killing others amongst them. That according to the Obama Justice Dept. is ok.  That is how the "eye of the beholders", perceive it.  Um... well that is just great. Change the game when it suits you to do so. Think about it. As of now there is no requirement that a court order be needed for the authorities to just skim along above and  just randomly spy on every one in it's flight plan.

I can remember as a kid watching movies depicting Nazi Germany. How neighbor was encourage to spy upon neighbor.  I was outraged at the thought.  Feeling confident that it could never happen in America.  The ridiculous argument that if you don't do anything wrong you have nothing to worry about, is a weak one.  All that is needed is an accusation to put you into the mire of the court system. Information that is gotten is not always what it is perceived to be. There is always the chance that those interpreting these observations are mistaken or have an ax to grind.  How many innocent people have been put into the court system on miss information. Then having to defend themselves against the power of the state. Whose resources far out weigh those of any private individual.  The angst and destruction of families and private fortunes decimated, occur daily. Just facing a judge or prosecutor can be devastating.  How many of those convicted of rape have been let out since the discovery of  DNA after serving long sentences ?  Quite a few. How about the possibility of incarceration for political reasons.  As it is with the attacks on the 2cd amendment and now the 4th, the 1st is also in the sights of political extremists.

 Imagine, they can see how many times you go to the hairdresser. Or if you kiss a baby.  How about if they want to embarrass someone of an opposing political party. This type of surveillance is potentially dangerous to all of us.  It is just another infringement of your rights as a private law abiding citizen.  Guaranteed by the Bill Of Rights. Remember those? Or have we reached a point where they no longer matter. The arbitrary use of these drones is a threat to all of us in America. They should only be used against an enemy. Not against ourselves. Is this what is meant by the term, " transforming America " ?  Does it actually mean that the populace is to be afraid of government instead of the other way around.  Something Jefferson warned about over 200 years ago.

You may not think the President is doing a good job. Take heart and look on the bright side. If that is possible to do. Vice President Joe Biden could have been on the top of the ticket. A number of years ago Joe Biden was suspected of having brain cancer. It turned out to be a non-malignant tumor which was removed.  In so doing they placed a steel plate in his head. That steel plate surly may have rusted.  In a Q and A with readers of Parents Magazine he was asked about defending hearth and home by a reader of that magazine. His first reaction to the query was his dismay that this could have been made by a Parents Magazine reader. Just to set the record straight Joe and in case you have not heard. Parents in this country want to protect themselves and most importantly their children. It is almost inane to not think that it would not come from a group who in most cases is responsible for the safety of their children.  Of course how would Joe understand that. After all he his wife and home are protected by the secret service and will continue to be. Even after his tenure as V.P.

His answer was, "get a shotgun".  He even reiterated it, and added that he had advised his wife Jill, to do the same.  He even suggested what kind of shotgun. A double barreled shot gun. You know just like the one Grannie uses to ward off unwanted guests on the Beverly Hillbillies t.v. series. Apparently that is all you need. Noting that his home is in a wooded area. He said to her to just get out on the balcony and give them two blasts. Apparently that is all you have to do to prompt the trespassers to run for the hills.  I mean this guy is so out of touch with the real world that it is pitiful.  First of all Joe we don't all have the vantage point of a "balcony" . Not all of us have the luxury of being surrounded by alarms and other devices that warn of an impending intruder.  Joe said you don't need an AR 15.  He claimed that the shot gun is easier to handle since you don't have to aim.

A ridiculous premise to be sure, but that is not the point. Joe apparently has his weapon of choice. Well Joe, who the hell are you to tell anyone what tools they need to defend and protect themselves?  What if your suggestion does not do the trick. Should someone sue you Joe. Will you express your grief at the funeral and declare how sorry you are. Then just ignore that it ever happened. Then with the help of  media spin declare what you "really meant" was. Just like with the four Americans in Bengazi.  Mr. Biden you are a dope.  Most of all you are a dangerous dope.  Who are you to tell anyone that they are limited to a shot gun. When their lives and those of their children are on the line.  That may be your choice but not the choice of others. If what you say is true,  then all U.S. Forces should only be given double barreled shot guns.  According to your theory all the military has to do is shoot off a couple of blasts and that will shake the enemy and they will run away.  Is that what you would have armed your son and his company with when he served in Iraq ?  Joe, a double barrel shot gun is your weapon of choice. That does not mean that it is everyone elses's. Especially when automatic weapons exist in the millions.  When you can tell me without equivocation that no one else has a weapon in this world. Is when I will give up my firearm.  Until then I would keep your ignorant opinions to yourself.  You don't know what you are talking about, as usual.

Par for the course ( excuse the pun ) the supporters of the Obama administration ie: , MSBC, CNN, ABC, CBS.  Have already sharpened their knives in an effort to get Rubio.  CNN even going as far as to suggest that going for a drink of water to quench a dry mouth "could be a career ender". for the Senator.  Once again taking a page out of the radical mentor of Obama and his left wing gang of despicable elites, Sol Aulinski.  Which is isolate, demonize and destroy.  By now, if my faith in the American people holds up, you have all recognized this as the modus operandi of that same group of characters.  How pitiful and dishonest can you get even in this era of a shameless and irresponsible media that always tilts in Obama's favor.

The leaning over to grab a bottle of water in the middle of a response to the State of Union message. By the articulate and practiced golden but forked tongued Obama. Was an awkward moment to be sure. In response to what he said. The media choose to report on that incident only. Not to give people an honest report that would give them an opposing view and educate them on future choices. But rather to embarrass the Honorable Senator who dared to offer an opposing view to the King of Crappola, the President of the United States, Mr. Obama.  Can you imagine the ravenous left just waiting for that moment. Licking their chops at the chance to pick on some juicy moment that they could exploit.  They are having a field day with the simple natural act of quenching a dry mouth. After already giving the rebuttal in Spanish.  Under the hot lights of a television studio. MSNBC played the clip over 155 times, CNN 34 times and counting. You can measure the political leanings of the T.V. stations almost by the amount of times they played the clip.  Fox played it a total of 12 times which is even a bit too much. It should have only been noted in passing. Mr. Rubio should have elicited a response of understanding the difficulty of following the President's speech. Even  perhaps chastising the people who did not place the water in a more accessible  location.  Instead they acted like hyenas. Not in service to the public but in disservice to the public who give them special privileges as journalists. Shame on them.

Mr. Obama has gone on vacation again. This after pointing how serious the problem of a sequestration has become. Instead of tackling all the problems such as unemployment and the rest.  He saw fit to go  play golf with Tiger Woods. Making sure that the press does not have access to his movements during his sabbatical  from all the pending problems that we face as a nation. Could it be that the President is becoming paranoid that the very tactics he uses against his opponents will be brought upon him. You know, an awkward moment like dribbling on himself. Or, stuffing his face with too much cherry pie or ribs.  Maybe showing how much of a duffer he is on the golf course. Or coming out of the toilet with toilet paper stuck to the heel of his shoe.  That is what happens and what prevails in the minds of those who follow the teachings of radical and dishonest mentors and dirty pool practitioners.  They become frightened that the same things can happen to them. Eventually resulting in a warped mental attitude.

That the line that would have been popular in Big Bear in the previous 3 or 4 days. Is " guns anyone", and the one asking the question would have been the most popular guy in town. Or in this case in a lakeside resort area.  Only this time it would not have been in the context of a movie.

For all you anti-gun advocates out there. The situation created by a deranged  liberal, Obama and MSNBC devotee,  Christofer Dorner. Who thought he would be the self appointed "white knight" of social justice activism. Shinning the light on,  "the man". Exposing the unfairness that still lingers because of the sins of some plantation owners over 200 years ago. Disregarding the fact that 600, 000 lives perished in a war that was fought to free them.  Decided that he was going to murder innocent people and law enforcement officers to prove his point. Conveniently obscuring the fact that he had his own personal axe to grind.  These were the actions of a wack job.

So he heads up to Big Bear Lake. Now what do you think you would have wanted to have in your possession when he was roaming the area looking for a place to hide out.  Would you have wanted a sling shot when you saw him walking up the hill in your direction ? Or maybe a rock or a whole bunch of rocks, or a big knife, maybe an axe.  Now dare me to be presumptuous. I would bet my cutest little puppy you would have wanted a gun. Yes I said it. A GUN. Not just any gun I bet. I would say the gun you would want held a lot of bullets just in case you missed. I know I personally would feel very comfortable with a cannon. Or maybe two cannons and a bazooka.  Or, perhaps a nuclear war head. Just so he would be dead before he got close enough to blast my head off and that of my family.

So much for the argument that the founding fathers meant that you should have a gun for duck hunting. As was put forth by that village idiot that they elected to be Governor of  New York.  A failure at everything he has ever been appointed too. He now is a failure at even making a good argument.  The fact is that people do not want guns until they need them.  In today's world with the liberal terrorists prevailing in the media. The closing of mental health facilities and the idea that even though people show all the signs of mental illness. They must first commit an act that harms others or themselves. By then it is too late. Your need for a firearm is dire.  To protect yourself and your family. The bigger the gun the better.  The fact that he was an anti-gun proponent leads me to believe his motive was to insure that only he would have a gun.  I believe in my heart that is the very reason the left and especially Obama wants to get rid of the second amendment.

The Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas Nevada . Has claimed another victim. At least that is what some in the media want you to believe . Why ?  It is just another way of opening a door that will interject more government control over our private lives. When will personal responsibility reign again in the realm of common sense. There now are calls to bring litigation or perhaps, new regulation or laws to prevent the business to continue operations.  How much of a warning do people need to plainly let them understand that the consumption of the menu items can cause heart attacks. The names of the items themselves denote in plain language the consequences of  the over consumption of these foods.For crying out loud the ambiance of the establishment is one of a hospital. Patrons are given hospital gowns as bibs. The cooks are dressed in surgeons garb. The wait staff are dressed as nurses. I mean come on folks. Who upon walking into this place does not get the message ? You would have to be deaf dumb and blind or mentally challenged to a degree that would prevent you from going there without an escort.

The most recent man to succumb to his own gluttonous conduct. Was a fixture inside and outside the establishment. He ate there everyday and consumed mounds of hamburgers, bacon, melted cheese and the like. Washed it down with butter milk shakes and other products that anyone with an iota of intelligence knows is not " good for you " when consumed in mass quantities. Or even moderate quantities.  The owner even admonished the man who stood outside and was a self proclaimed booster of the restaurant and the products they served.  The owner told him in no uncertain terms that eating in this manner could possibly result in health problems. Yet the man continued to consume, consume and consume the very things that would, in the end possibly end in his death.

So now they want to blame the owner of the restaurant.  By litigation, legislation, or off the cuff regulation or any other means that removes the responsibility from the dead man and places it on someone else. Par for the course and in line with the Obama culture of blaming anyone and anything but the cause. Namely the person who is responsible for doing to themselves and others, something that ends badly.

It is interesting to note that the media feels a need to point out those who have died from heart attacks in the restaurant.  That can probably be blamed to a long list of self abuse. Not only of going to a particular restaurant. How about pointing out the numerous amounts of customers that have not died.  Do you suppose those patrons understood that moderation is the key to most everything we do. Has anyone ever supposed that facts that surrounded his death was due to symptoms of OCD.

Ok, we have a man, Christoper Dorner, who has determined that he will be the avenger of all that is wrong.  The weight of the world is upon him as he continues in his quest to right the wrongs of society.  Oh the humanity of it all.  I am so glad that finally someone has come to the rescue of all the victims of injustice. Perpetrated upon them by the powers that be in Los Angeles.  His reasoning is well founded by some in the academic world, and left wing media types. Oh yes, we must understand his outrage. After all he is really trying to point out injustice to the black man going back 400 years. He is another Sicilian Giuliani roaming in the hills of western Sicily. Killing for the injustices the occupants of that island suffered for 2000 years. Or, an American  Jesse James. Raiding and robbing banks across the middle states of the country. Blowing up trains with innocent people aboard.  Don't stop there. Include Bonnie and Clyde who randomly killed police officers. Trying to, shall I dare say it? Keep them from robbing banks. Che Gueverra, the communist revolutionary going from country to country to show the light of how everyone was being oppressed by those no good capitalists. Maiming and killing as he hid in the hills of  various Latin American countries.  He also in recent years has been glorified on tee shirts. Most of those wearing them not knowing how murderous he was until killed. 

As it was with the others mentioned. It is the same with him.  They do what they do for one person.  For themselves. Unfortunately they start to attract a fan club of malcontents and selective misanthropes.  That support these folks and their dirty well thought out killing sprees because they identify with them.  For a variety of reasons. "Poor me I have been a victim". Declaring, "I too have known the unfairness of the police or the government". Or whining how,  " my mother,  my father,  my teacher".  "They have all been mean to me and I want this man to kill as many of them as he can so I can feel gratified and heal my pain".  Not caring how much pain is inflicted upon others. To them the "ends justify the means". A philosophy rejected by every major religion from Buddhism to Christianity, from Shintoism to Hinduism.  People that think in this way support these deeds.  That indiscriminately, kill the innocent and terrorize the citizenry.  All in the name of social justice. The cheer leaders of this kind of behavior are not deserving to live in a civilized society.  Ironically,  they are only tolerated by society, because it is civilized.  It is also worth pointing out that innocent couple he killed were of the minority he is so concerned about.  They were an example of how far this country has come without him and his murders.  One Asian and the other black.  Both Americans.

Now the Los Angeles police chief wants to re-open the case to show that it was done in fairness. Like an umpire saying re-do at a baseball game. This is the kind of thinking that gives credence and encourages these events. Yes, perhaps some members of the Los Angeles Police Dept and their left wing politicians do mishandle and discriminate. Like many organizations from Maine to Masula and Moscow to Manitoba. There are those who will abuse the power and responsibility entrusted to them.  However his case was given a fair hearing, he had a lawyer and it was not ruled in his favor.  A good thing because there is no doubt that the actions he has taken, show that the ruling was a justified one.  He too would have been one of those who abused his authority.  The Los Angeles police chief is also a problem and should be dismissed.  His decision to open the files of the investigation is not a prudent one and only create doubt.  There can be no mistake now.  That the decision to dismiss him from the police dept. was a correct one.

The idea of the Chief of Police even contemplating of opening the investigation of the files.  Is the root of the problem that law enforcement finds itself in. Liberal mindsets and " boo hoo" media types and intellectual academics. That want to pin these murders on past sins of a slave culture is old, worn, and over used.  It does not apply.  It is discounting the fact that there are and continues to be great strides made in the area of race.  The great majority of Black Americans have taken their place in a law abiding, productive America. Taking advantage of the opportunities afforded them.  Making the most of them and seeking and attaining the American dream. One example, to be sure is that the President is an African American.

It is interesting to note that the hoopla that resulted after the Sandy Hook massacre of children. Is now non existent.  Do people not consider the children of parents killed by Dorner a tragedy.  Where is the outrage here. Children were killed that were innocent. Perhaps not of the same age, but children of parents just the same.  Why are there excuses made for Dorner.  In the way of extenuating circumstances and claiming social justice.  The perpetrator in the  killing two innocent people ?  Adam Lanza  was classified as mentally disabled, a reasonable excuse for his actions.  Christopher Dorner, is far from mentally disabled and has had opportunities that far exceed many Americans. Black, Green, White or otherwise.  He provided a manifesto that proposed anarchy , recklessness and filled with hate and vengeance. Yet we still have those who want to hang racism as the cause for these murders and terror.  These are strictly actions of a man who is selfish, racist, and a devotee of the left and the rants of the "blame America first crowd", for the ills of the world. 

Short Term Fix On Budget ?

The President proposes another short term fix, why? We have short term fixed for a long, long time now.  He says it is just until a budget deal can be reached. How can you have a budget deal when there is no budget submitted from Senate that can be discussed. Not one budget has been submitted to the House in four years although it is required by law to do so. So far the submission of a budget from the President is late. The President has submitted budgets that have been so trounced by the Senate as to have received zero votes from either party. That is how unrealistic they have been.  How important can the implementation of good permanent fix for our economy and the reduction of spending be for him. When he continues to be satisfied with short term fixes. He has already said that we do not have a spending problem. A sentiment echoed by his nominee for Treasury, Mr Lew.  Short term fixes do nothing but prolong the pain. It is like the relief of a fistula. Draining the abscess but never getting to the root.

His latest call to arms is the scare tactic that sequestration will kick in. Resulting in across the board cuts that will also effect military budgets. Leaving us in the lurch in comparison to other countries like China and Russia who have increased spending in that area of the budget.  National security ending up on the short end of the stick.  Potentially leaving us in a dire situation.  Gee that is quite a turn around for the Democratic party who have always complained that too much was spent on the military. What is the problem Mr. President ? You should be happy as a clam that the military is being cut after all that is what you have been about for the past 3 years. We know that it certainly must satisfy your base who have clamoring for years on the subject. If indeed you are so worried about the defense budget just make a deal to take that out of the equation when instituting sequestration ? I am sure that is possible with Republicans who feel that way as well.

Mr. President you can not keep on throwing the blame upon others. Your leadership on the matter is of the utmost importance. You have shown that compromise is not one of your strong points. You should look up the word compromise. You think it means my way or the highway as you certainly alluded to in your inauguration speech. You remind me of someone who wants to kill someone and keeps on giving them small doses of arsenic. Until they are dead.

As usual I am covering an important testimony of our time in front of Congress. I will tell you that I do not rely upon news filters when it comes to important matters. Especially one that smells of a cover up. Today I am watching the hearings of Leon Panetta and Gen. Dempsey.  One of the most interesting facts that have come out is the testimony of the Sec. Of  Defence and the Joint Chief of Staff.  Is that the President of United States spoke to each of them one time. Both at the same time at a regularly schedule meeting. No meetings held after that first one. Only 20 minutes was devoted to the problem at Bengazi.  After that no contact by phone call or other means was made by the President of these two people who are responsible for these types of crises. No inquiries were made by Madame Clinton, the Sec.Of State of the situation that was ongoing  In addition there was never any movement of military assets to the area.

The excuse being that it only lasted 7 hrs.  The problem here is that there was no indication, unless you had a crystal ball. That the attack would only last 7 hrs.  So if it would have lasted two or three days there would have been no assets on the way to the area.  Another excuse was that the intelligence in the area was lacking even thought there was CIA headquarters virtually down the block from the Embassy.  When asked the question whether the President who was supposedly so concerned with the safety of the Embassy staff . Had bothered to call and find out the progress of the situation.  Both the Sec. and the General looked at each other for help with the answer.  The answer was no. When asked if the Sec of State had any contact with either one. The answer was no. Even though she was responsible for the Embassy personnel. How would you like a boss like that?  Apparently she left those folks twisting in the wind.  Then took responsibility for the failures of security and had ignored memos sent to her as to the dangers in Bangazi. She claimed responsibility as glibly as taking responsibility for putting too much salt in the mashed potatoes. Claiming that she was clear eyed to the dangers of the situation in her testimony. It was discovered that she never saw the memos that were sent. Although General Dempsey said he read and was aware of the memos sent requesting more security by the Ambassador. Although Leon Panetta said The President instructed that DOD should do all it could to help the people on the ground. No assets were ever sent. No calls were made by the President. to find out the progress and none were made by the Sec.of State.

There is no doubt that a cover up had taken place when they sent out Susan Rice to answer questions on the reason for the attacks. According to testimony by Mr. Panetta and the General. It was known it was a planned terrorist attack soon after it began.  Despite all the information that was already known. The Obama administration continued, even weeks later. To miss lead the American people by claiming it was all because of a video. For all the his claims and feelings of empathy for those involved and killed. He never bothered to call to find out the status of such a dangerous situation. Or to find out where his Ambassador was during all of this. What exactly was the President doing during this turmoil ? That can be legitimately classified as a second 9/11.

Indiscriminate Killing of Americans By the Obama Administration

Let me see if I have this right. The Obama justice dept. tried to prosecute members of the CIA for water boarding. Calling it torture. Now they defend and say it is ok to kill Americans with drone attacks overseas if they decide it is ok. They seem to have no problem with this. Even though the conditions and reasons for the justifications are about as clear as a bowl of cream of mushroom soup.  What the heck is going on here?  An administration that wanted to bring the residents of Guantanamo Bay Prison, who are not citizens and were caught on the battle field. To stand trial in the United States in civil court. Affording them all the rights of a U.S. citizens.  Now says we can kill Americans with no due process. Interesting to be sure, hypocrisy to be doubly sure. Many Americans are fine with this.  However at the risk of looking beyond the tip or our nose. What is next ? This is an administration that continues to rule with edicts rather than going through anything that would resemble going through the process. Executive orders and recess appointments seem to be the norm and not the exception. All in an effort to by-pass the congress.

Where are all those democrats and liberals that condemned and actually came out and called Bush a murderer ? You know, the protesters like Cindy Sheehan.  That the media gave so much attention to as she desecrated her sons memory.  What happened to the all the media attention and slogans like, "Clinton lied but nobody died".  Placard carrying misfits, who were given attention whether their numbers protesting were two or hundred and two, crowd or no crowd.  It is quite disturbing that all of a sudden they seem to have disappeared.  Perhaps they were eliminated with drone attacks that we were not informed of, but the administration felt necessary to do. Under a pretext that they found not necessary to explain.  Perhaps this is the true reason for Obama's efforts for strict gun control. Is this why the founding fathers were so particular to make sure the second amendment was included in the Bill of Rights ?  It seems to me that as time goes on the reason is becoming more and more evident. For sure it was not to insure that everyone could shoot dinner.

So the numbers are out this month and guess what?  The Dow hit 14000 early this morning. The first time since 2007.  The un employment rate went to 7.9 %. An uptick from 7.8 % from last month. Wow, so I guess this is the new norm. Your 401 K if you have a job is doing great and you who have a 401k ,usually  are employed. Not so happy are those looking for a job. Or, those 12million who are under employed. Meaning they are either earning less or are employed part time. Yeah, that is real progress. Ya' think, I don't.  In addition to that the reports indicate that the economy is shrinking. That's right, all of you who say things are getting better but not fast enough. Here is a flash. When the economy shrinks, things are not getting better. So what do you want to do folks. You want to take the money that is earned in the stock market by those who invested in it and spread it around. Well that is a great idea if you are prone to wearing a stocking over your head.  Keep in mind folks that the money earned in the market is also money that working folks put into it. Yes, that is right. It is union dues and money that workers like you and I sacrifice from each and every paycheck. Or, are given as part of a union contract. You know collective bargaining contracts that insure your pension will not be without dollars. When it comes time to hang up your working clothes. Yes, some of that money comes from off shore accounts and those big bad oil companies.  That Al Gore had no problem collecting a profit of $100 million dollars from when he sold his 20 percent of Current T.V.

So again what do you want to do? Raid the coffers of the big corporations. You steal from your neighbor when you do.  Come on, any one with any sense and common decency would not want to see that happen.  First because it is immoral. Second, what will be left when the well runs dry. As Margaret Thacher once said, " socialism is fine until you run out of other peoples money".  No, the answer is jobs. Opportunity to grow with others. Opportunity to have the ability to also have a 401K. You can't  have those opportunities if the economy shrinks.  Do you want to print more money and perhaps put it out there to increase the flow of dollars or what ever other money supply you think needs it. Well that's fine to a point. Until the money you have in your hand can no longer buy a loaf of bread. Known as inflation. Or, would you like to have a situation where the money flow is limited and there is no spending.  That is called recession.  No spending means no work. No work means you have an employment rate that is woefully low and un employment high. No money no honey, baby.  No growth.  That is what we have right now...... We are there.

The Jobs Council was disbanded yesterday by Mr. Obama. The Council met a total of 4 times. I don't think that members really did anything that was constructive. However, they did make some recommendations that were treated the same way the Simpson Bowles recommendations were treated by the President. They were ignored. Now he picked these guys. A collection of big business leaders who supported him. On of which was Jeff  Imelt former head of General Electric who also owned NBC . A news network known to be biased in favor of Mr. Obama. Who almost immediately sent more jobs overseas. One of the recommendations was less regulation on business. Rather than take up these recommendations. Mr. Obama has increased regulations. A slew of them for the coming next term. Continuing the failed economic policies of the first term. 

Mr. Obama has a problem. He does not take advice. The ship is sinking and he will not start the pumps to stem the incoming sea water in order to save fuel. He continues to insist that the sailors use buckets to bail out the incoming water. It has not worked and will not work. Just yesterday the cost for the bail out of G.M. added another 6 billion dollars to the tab for the taxpayer. It is now a grand total of 27 billion dollars.  Instead of letting the free market work he insists on hobbling it for the sake of an ideology that has failed every where it is tried. It is easy to see why he insists upon this route. First his experience is one based upon little or none in the area of business. His only job was that of a lawyer in the area of community activist. By definition that is where you take money that is produced. Not one of producing wealth but  rather distributing someone else's.  Can that possibly work. Of course not. All it produces is a class that does not contribute to themselves or the rest of us. It is a form of placating those that do not have and creates more of it.  People do need help and should get it.  How in the world will anyone be able to provide that help if they themselves eventually need help themselves.  A shrinking economy will not help any one. It is time for the President to acknowledge that he is wrong and the free market is right for this country and the world.
